He can be a bit sassy while getting tacked up (we like to call it “expressive charm”), but once you’re in the saddle, he’s smooth, steady, and a joy to ride. Suitable for beginners and often used for lessons, he’ll carry you with confidence and style
Rio

At 24 years old, Rio is our elegant Dun Kiger Mustang mare from the U.S. — and yes, she’s actually the niece of the real-life horse who inspired the animated film Spirit. Her strength, grace, and cloud-like trot make her a favorite with beginners and experienced riders alike. Don’t let her age fool you — she’s got the heart of a wild mustang and the soul of a gentle teacher.
Holly

Holly is our 18-year-old Appendix Quarter Horse mare with a heart of gold. Kind, calm, and endlessly patient, she’s perfect for first-time riders or anyone looking for a relaxing ride through the countryside. She’s the kind of horse that makes you feel like you’ve been riding forever, even if it’s your very first time
Morita

Don’t let her petite frame fool you — Morita, our 12-year-old flea-bitten gray Quarter Horse mare, is a powerhouse with a fiery spirit. She’s got a go-go-go attitude and prefers to prance rather than stroll. Best suited for confident, experienced riders who enjoy a little extra pep in their step. Born and raised in Mexico, she brings a whole lot of heart to every trail.
Chilaca
Trail Ride and Leasing options
Named after the spicy chilaca pepper, this beautiful sooty buckskin Quarter Horse mare lives up to her name. At around 8 years old, Chilaca is spirited, intelligent, and full of personality. She’s best matched with intermediate or advanced riders who can appreciate her zest while guiding her with a steady hand. A fun and fiery addition to the herd. Chilaca has a new baby and is taking some time off from riding right now.
Elizabeth
Trail Ride and Leasing options
Elizabeth is a 10-year-old dark bay Appendix Quarter Horse mare with a heart of gold and a hint of drama. She’s gentle, affectionate, and always eager to please — but she’s also on high alert for anything that might be hiding behind a bush. Her curiosity sometimes turns into sudden spooks, so she’s best suited for experienced riders who can stay calm, cool, and collected no matter what surprises the trail holds.
Prince

Prince is a 27 year old Missouri Foxtrotter. He has been with us for several years as a boarder and later became one of our most trusted confidence building trail horses. He is now retired from riding due to arthritis. He's a gentle and grounding presence in our Equine, Wisdom Program Prince offers, calm, steady energy that helps guests slow down connect and feel safe in his quiet company.

Amiga is a sweet, gentle pinto mare with perfect ground manners and a heart that loves connection. She thrives in our Equine Wisdom sessions, where her calm presence and intuitive nature help people feel safe, seen, and supported.
She especially enjoys being brushed and spending quiet moments with guests, making her a wonderful partner for grounding, emotional connection, and gentle healing work.

Kalypso is a 10 year old Kiger Mustang mare. She came to us as a yearling straight from the wild, and she still carries that beautiful Mustang spirit in her heart. She’s easygoing, loving, and deeply connected to her people, but every now and then you can still see a spark of her wild roots—which only adds to her charm.
With her sensitivity and intelligence, Kalypso forms strong bonds and brings a special kind of presence to those who spend time with her.

- Unlimited Access: Ride your leased horse any day, any time. Enjoy solo rides or join our morning trail rides.
- All-Inclusive Care: We handle everything—farrier, veterinary care, deworming, dental (teeth floating), and chiropractic.
- Support & Amenities: Includes use of tack, access to our wrangler, and optional participation in morning rides.
- Facilities: Take advantage of our dressage arena (about 20x40m, slightly larger), and our full set of working equitation obstacles.

Part Time Lease

With 38 years of experience, and CHA certification, Amy teaches Western, English and Dressage disciplines with a strong focus on groundwork, rider biomechanics and centered riding. The Rausten's
Chris and Jeff have been together for over 30 years and married almost as long. Chris has loved horses since before she could talk, and Jeff fell in love with horses when he fell in love with her. They’re involved in nearly every trail ride, deeply bonded with their horses, and passionate about making guests feel like family.
Our Story
From a $35 Shetland pony to a ten-horse dream ranch in central Mexico, Chris and Jeff’s journey has always been guided by heart. After building Moon Dance Ranch in California, they moved to Mexico in 2022 and found this hidden gem. The name, Baile De La Luna, honors their past and celebrates their new chapter under the
desert moon.
Meet Your Wrangler
Roberto is a lifelong local of San Miguel de Allende with over 30 years of experience working with horses. He brings calm confidence to every ride and has a deep respect for the bond between horse and rider. His favorite trails include the Río Laja and the path to Los Ricos. Whether he’s leading a ride or helping guests connect with their horses, Roberto’s love for the land and animals shines through.
